Super Dwarfs

In 2004, we acquired 5.5 pure Super Dwarf Reticulated Pythons from a Canadian breeder..  The parents of these animals are extremely tiny by Reticulated Python standards.  At 5-6 years of age, they ranged from 5 - 6.5 feet in length, about the size of a Carpet Python.  Our group is breeding now and at 4 years of age, are still all under 7 feet in length.  We also acquired 1.1 retics that were produced from breeding a male dwarf albino to a super dwarf.  These snakes are a little bigger that a pure super dwarf, but are still under 8 feet long.

We intend to breed  color and pattern mutations into this super dwarf line.  Our goal is to provide all of the stunning Retic morphs, but in a size that the average snake owner can easily house and manage.

Here are photos of the original imports of this line of super dwarfs.  These animals produced most of our super dwarf breeders.  The male is on the left, female on the right.

Here are some photos with me holding several retics, showing the size differences.  All of the retics in these photos are cb'04 adult breeders.

Super Dwarf:

The retic I'm holding here is a cb'04 adult breeder male super dwarf.  Adult males average about 6 feet, females are about 7 feet.

Dwarf Albino x Super Dwarf:

This retic is the result of breeding a male dwarf albino to a female super dwarf.  Because they are not pure super dwarf, they do get a little bigger.  Shown here is an adult proven breeder female.  She's about 8 feet long.

Normal Size Albino

Here is a normal size male albino.  He's over 10 feet long and easily weighs 5 times what a super dwarf does.

Here is a photo of a juvenile super dwarf with a normal-sized albino.  These snakes are the same age!
