Python and Boa Cages and Racks (Freedom Breeders)
Ball Python Incubator (Habitat Systems, Ltd.)
These are our new Ball Python racks from Monster Cages (www.monster-cages.com). We really like these because the humidity and temperatures are so easy to control. Also, each box acts like a hidebox. We have some timid balls that were extremely difficult feeders, who almost immediately settled in and began feeding once we moved them to these racks. We plan to eventually move our entire ball python collection into Monster Cages. We highly recommend them!

Well, we made it a whole 2 years before we decided to add onto our facility. We just began construction of a 900+ square foot addition that will house supplies, extra cages/racks, and our rodent colony.

Below is a summary of the construction of our new facility that was built about 100 feet from our house in late '03/ early '04. We purchased the house in May '03 with 3 acres of land on the Northeast side of Wausau, WI. Construction began in late September, 2003:

After months of negotiations with contractors, electricians, heating/ cooling experts, ground is finally breaking on our new facility today! We purchased a beautiful new house on the Northeast side of Wausau, WI. It is about 3 miles out of town, on 3 acres of land. The new facility is being built on the same property, about 100 feet from the house. This facility should be one of the finest around. Here is the general information:
36' x 72' with additional 9x16 room on back with garage door (storage room).
Radiant heat (in floor hydronic) throughout building. Each room zoned. Forced air heaters for supplemental daytime heat.
Central Air Conditioning to prevent overheating in summer.
1 office 12x18 with full bathroom
1 adult reptile room 22' x 72'
1 juvenile reptile room 12x36
1 storage/ incubator room 12x18
Complete security system including cameras, alarms, etc. Can't be too safe!
We'll be able to keep our adults and juveniles in separate rooms, which will make it much easier to put our adults through their cooling period without disrupting the babies. This will really make it much easier to maintain the collection. Also, because of the large size of the rooms, we'll really be able to spread our racks out, making the daily feeding and maintenance much easier.

We have all of the animals and most of the supplies moved now. Of course, now we get to put everything away and organize things. The building isn't quite comleted yet, but it's getting close. The office is still a work in progress so we can't set up our phone line, or computer yet. We hope to have that finished by early February. Once we get everything settled in, we'll take more photos of the final product. It was worth the wait, that's for sure!

Our old facility. In 2000, we moved about half of our collection from the basement into a 600 square foot building outside. We outgrew this one and finally built our new facility in late '03/ early '04. The new facility is over 4 times as big as the old one and much easier to manage our collection.

This is our basement of our old house back in 2000 before we moved some of the collection to our small building outside. It got pretty crowded down there!

These were some shots of my display tanks in my old office. The cages are all Oceanic Lizard Lounges. This is where we kept our Green Tree Python collection, as well as some Ridgetail Monitors, Day Geckos, Flying Geckos, Waxy Monkey Frogs and Satanic Leaftail Geckos.
